Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer — EPDM — is a synthetic rubber membrane available in sheets up to 50 feet wide, dramatically reducing the number of seams on any given roof and the risk of leaks.
The membrane is bonded to the insulation board with contact adhesive across the entire field. Provides excellent wind uplift resistance and eliminates the membrane flutter common in loosely laid systems.
Fasteners and plates secure the membrane at seams and perimeter. This method is faster to install and allows for inspection and repair of individual sections without disturbing the full membrane.
Existing EPDM roofs with seam failures, punctures, or shrinkage issues can often be repaired with EPDM patches and lap sealant — extending roof life without full replacement.
EPDM has been installed on flat roofs since the 1960s and remains one of the most popular commercial roofing materials for good reason. It stays flexible at temperatures as low as -40 degrees, handles NJ's freeze-thaw cycles without cracking, and resists UV degradation better than most single-ply alternatives.
